Crippen accuses the CONDEMs of having blood on their hands / 9 September 2010
I recently created some cartoons for the Disabled people's anti-benefit cuts campaign group 'Black Triangle'.
The plan is to load a different cartoon every few days onto their web site on the build up to the big protest planned for the 3rd October (Tory party annual convention).
One of the 'toons (this one) got posted straight away and resulted in someone putting a block on the web site link in Face Book. Apparently the cartoon crossed the line for some people!
What do you think? I'd be interested to know.

/As many of you will now know, I've had to close down my Face Book account for a while due to some malicious hacking. See full details in blog dated 26th September 2010.

/It's the same over here in the states. Looks like all we crips need to organise a world wide protest! More power to your elbow Crippen!

/What is sad is that people who don't have disability in their lives believe the (governments) lies. I was chatting to a friend in England and he was on about malingerers needing to be stopped, and got a shock when I explained the true situation. Our Coalition party (in Australia) does the same, thank god we got a Labor/Greens govt by the skin of their teeth last week.

/Well it's way too mild for me, Dave!I much prefer this one: https://disabilityartsonline.org.uk/?location_id=207&item=654
I think because in the 'controversial' one, those committing suicide are not present.

/Sometimes words fail me Mr Crippen and when they do you seem to capture my thoughts in pictures. you are 'on the nail' loud and clear. Keep going.... keep going!

/thanks for the support folks. Currently the cartoon appears to be still blocked on Face Book ... no, it's back again ... no, gone again. Wait until they see the new one I'm working on for Black Triangle!

/their attacks against disabled people are a disgrace and they should be ashamed of themselves. They already have the blood of disabled people on their hands and unless we fight back there will be more. Clegg says that we all have a cushy life on benefits: anyone on benfits who agress with that? Their benefit cuts, care cuts and housing cuts will force disabled people even further into poverty and destitution and put independent living at risk. Homeless disabled people could end up begging on the streets like in India.

/This is spot on and captures the whole horror perfectly- silly FB blocking this

/Huh! I really can't understand the justification for censoring you in this way?? It's a brilliant cartoon that articulates the truth in that there have been suicides by people who have already had there benefits cut... this was the reason the Black Triangle Campaign started. And, don't people understand symbolism?? Carry on Dave, can't wait for the next one x
PS
Or, maybe the condems have passed some new censorship legislation and I haven't heard about it??

/As usual you capture the truth perfectly and no matter how painful the subject you give us the ability to smile at the things we don`t like if it gets blocked it is only because you capture the truth so perfectly

/Right on the nail.

/I think you got it spot on. What the condems are doing is bureaucratic genocide. I have noticed an increase in suicides this year. I have no doubt these bureaucratic, self-arse-licking organisms have contributed to people’s suicides, or worsened their mental states, how could it not?
You don't need to be as brazen as a gas chamber, push people to the edge, and make sure the edge is greased is how the condems are doing it. Bastards!

/To be frank, I was shocked at the sexual connotations of this cartoon. we all object to the relationship between the Tories and the Lib Dems but seeing David Cameron with his rubber gloves staring lasciviously at Nick Clegg with raspberry jelly dripping from his hands is just too much!

/Wot - no comments?!

/You keep saying it like it is Mr C in the true tradition of political cartoonists!
