Portrait of myself standing remembered from a dream (charcoal 1980)
Long thin white paper lies on the centre of a dark grey surface making it look like a shaft of light falling on the naked body of a young woman seen from behind. Her head is seen is profile facing to the left – strong features and high cheek bone beneath dark blue cropped hair. An elegant back bone runs down between strongly defined shoulder blades towards full rounded buttocks. The body fades as it reaches the upper thighs. Long slender arms fall on both sides. The face is echoed by a fainter version appearing to emanate from it.
