Coloured ink drawing titled Homage to the Black Umbrella

Umbrella was originally drawn in black indian ink on the fly leaf of a foxed old page torn from 'Tramps in Dark Mongolia' (1908), when I was on train to London for a friend's birthday (the book was a gift for him). I kept back the drawing. It is highly detailed and the umbrella, unusually facing the other way around to embrace the sky, is floating on the sea, next to an oyster and mermaid and a whole galaxy of pandemonia.
