Crippen's Soylent Blue cartoon

For those of you too young to have seen the 1973 film Soylent Green with Charlton Heston this cartoon won't have the same impact on you that it will to us oldies. It was basically about a futuristic government getting rid of its dissidents and solving a world wide food crisis by turning them into food - Soylent Green! We're being such a pain in the arse to the present Tory government that it's a wonder they haven't thought of this as a solution for us! Remember ... you are what...

Crippen's cartoon about disability hate crime

When these latest figures hit my in tray this week I couldn't help wondering if this was further evidence of the effect of the government's targeting of disabled people? Police figures for England, Wales and Northern Ireland show that there has been a rise in hate crimes against disabled people during the past two years. "This doesn't need to be organised in the...

Chief Constable

It strikes me as strange that this government haven't safe-guarded themselves by keeping the police forces around the country happy. As more and more people take to the streets in protest against the ConDem's slash and burn tactics, I would have thought that they are going to need the boys and girls in blue to maintain public order and keep party members safe. But with the various police forces up and down the country being faced with their own cuts, there's now a strong possiblity...

Crippen's cartoon about disabled people moving to Eire

Excuse me for seeming a little confused here, but hasn't the Prime Minister just been telling us how little money we have and that we're all going to have to tighten our belts and that Disabled people have to accept benefit cuts to the tune of 12 billion pounds ...?! So, what's with this sudden appearance of seven billion that is going to be paid into the Irish banks as a token of the "particular economic relationship" that exists? I suppose the key word here is...
