Zenmen sculpture by Tony Heaton

Two rotund figures sit facing opposite directions on a bench in an art gallery. The figures and the bench are carved out of one block of shining white marble which is standing on a streaky grey slab of marble. The figures appear to be looking at the works on exhibit and in the background there is a row of four hung paintings. The heads are round and the faces featureless the bodies are sensuously curvaceous. The figure facing us has its right arm resting on its right thigh and the left resting on the bench. The figure facing away from us is endowed with a pair of generous buttocks protruding towards the foreground. The whole composition has a calm serenity.
